Privacy Policy

The short version: I only collect what you choose to send me through the contact form or when you sign up for a plan. I use it to reply to you and to provide and bill for my services, and I never sell it or use it for advertising. Payments are handled by Stripe, so your card and bank details never reach my server.

Who I am

This website belongs to Márton Konrád, a web designer based in the Chicago suburbs, Illinois. In this policy, “I” and “me” refer to me, and “you” refers to anyone visiting martonkonrad.com. If you have any questions, email hello@martonkonrad.com.

What information I collect

What you send through the contact form: your name, email address, phone number if you add one, and your message.
What you enter when you sign up for a plan: your name, business name, email address, phone number and billing address. Your card or bank account details are entered directly into Stripe’s secure form and go only to Stripe. I can see the type of payment method and its last four digits, never the full number.
Basic technical details sent with the form: the date and time of your message and your IP address, which is included in the email I receive. To limit repeated messages, the site keeps a scrambled (hashed) copy of your IP address for 10 minutes. Messages that the spam filter blocks are kept privately on the server for up to 30 days so I can check for real messages caught by mistake.
Standard server logs: like nearly every website, my hosting provider automatically records requests to the site, including IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used for security and keeping the site running.

I don’t ask you to create an account on this website. If you manage your billing, you sign in to Stripe’s secure billing page with your email address.

How I use it

To reply to your message and talk with you about your project.
To prepare quotes and, if we work together, to provide my services.
To charge for the plan you signed up for, send receipts and invoices, and keep billing records.
To keep a record of our conversation.
To protect the site and the contact form from spam and abuse.

I won’t add you to a mailing list or send you marketing emails unless you ask me to.

What I don’t do

I don’t sell, rent or trade your information.
I don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.
I don’t use advertising or advertising tracking pixels on this site, and my analytics are set up not to share data for advertising.

Cookies

This site doesn’t use advertising cookies. The contact form doesn’t set any cookies.

On the sign-up and billing pages, Stripe sets its own cookies to process payments securely and prevent fraud. These are covered by Stripe’s privacy policy.

To understand how many people visit and which pages are useful, the site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies (named _ga) to tell visits apart. Google Analytics is set up here with advertising features and Google signals turned off. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with Google’s opt-out add-on.

Services this site relies on

A few trusted providers help run the site. They only handle your information as needed to provide their service:

Hostinger hosts the website and keeps the server logs described above.
Google Workspace delivers and stores the emails sent through the contact form. A copy of each message is also kept in a password-protected admin area on my own server.
Stripe processes payments, stores your payment method for recurring billing, and sends receipts. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
Google Analytics measures visits to the site, including pages viewed, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city level). Google processes this under its own privacy policy; you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. To load them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address.
Google Maps and vCard Link are only used if you tap “Directions” or “Add To My Contacts” on my contact card. Those services then apply their own privacy policies.

I may also share information if the law requires it.

How long I keep it

I keep messages for as long as they’re useful for our conversation or working relationship. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and business record laws require. Server logs are kept by my hosting provider for a limited time under their own policies. You can ask me to delete your messages at any time.

Keeping it secure

The site uses HTTPS, so information you send is encrypted on its way to me. I take reasonable steps to protect what I receive, but no method of sending or storing data online is completely secure.

Your choices

You can email hello@martonkonrad.com at any time to:

ask what information I have about you,
correct anything that’s wrong, or
have your messages and contact details deleted, except for billing records I’m required to keep.

I’ll respond as soon as I can, usually within a few business days.

Children

This website is meant for businesses and adults. I don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent me information, please contact me and I’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If I change how the site handles information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
